Citibank, the largest world bank which is division of bank service of consumers of financial services of giant Citigroup. Citibank the First national city bank of New York has been created in 1812 as City Bank in New York, later. In 1976 under the direction of general director Uoltera B. Ristona, the First national city bank (and its holding company the First the national urban corporation) has been renamed Citibank, NA (and Citicorp, accordingly). By then, the bank has created own "bank holding" and became affiliated company Citicorp (all shareholders of bank became shareholders of new corporation which became the unique bank owner). As of March, 2010, Citigroup is the third on size bank holding company in the USA on size of assets, after Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase.

Citibank spends bank transactions more than in 100 countries and territories worldwide. More than half from the 1400 offices in the United States are possessed, basically in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington and Miami. More recently, Citibank has expanded the operations in Boston, Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas and other big cities.

In addition to standard bank transactions, Citibank (Bank the City) offers insurance, credit cards and investment products. As a result of world financial crisis of 2008-2009 revealed huge losses in cost of substandard hypothecary assets, Citibank has been rescued by the government of the USA. On November, 23rd, 2008, in addition to the initial help in size $25 billion, still $25 billion it has been invested in corporation together with warranties for brave assets for the sum $306 billion. From now on, Citibank has reset the credits of the government in full.
