Monetary unit of the Arabian Republic Egypt is the Egyptian pound making 100 piastres and manufactured by Central bank, In the cash circulation there are denominations of denomination of 5, 10, 25, 50 piastres, 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 pounds.
The Egyptian pound is entered as monetary unit since November, 14th, 1885 Along with the Egyptian notes and coins as a lawful legal tender liras Turkey (till 1916) and English coined golds addressed also.
The International designation of Egyptian pound looks like an abbreviation EGR .
On face side of a denomination in nominal value of 5 piastres of the sample of 2002 (the size - 95 x 57 mm, primary colours - blue, violet and dark grey) is seated the plotting of a medallion with a portrait of known tsarina Nefertiti, on the back is available an inscription THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT and the digital designation of nominal value seated in the figured socket.
Face side of the note in nominal value 1 pound (the size - 145 x 70 mm, primary colours - ochre, brown and dark blue) is decorated by the plotting of a mosque of sultan Kaitbeja, on the back there is a plotting of a fragment of a facade of a temple of Abu-Simbel and an inscription CENTRAL BANK OF EGYPT.
On face side of a denomination of denomination of 5 pounds (the size - 145 x 70 mm, primary colours - ochre, grey and dark blue) is seated the plotting of a mosque of Ibn-Tulun, on turnaround - a kind of a bas-relief with the plotting of the river Nile and an inscription CENTRAL BANK OF EGYPT.
The Note of 20 Egyptian pounds is printed in grey-green tones, on face side in the center Mohammed Ali's mosque, on turnaround - frescos from a tomb of Sesostris and Ancient Egyptian soldiers on a chariot is represented.
100 Egyptian pounds are executed in is dark-brown-violet tones. The mosque of Sultan Hasana is represented in the center on face side, the back center takes the Sphinx plotting. A watermark on both notes - a mask of Tuttanhamon. The size of 20 pounds - 175 x 70 mm, 100 pounds - 165 x 70 mm.
