Republic Djibouti Monetary unit is the franc which is equal to 100 centimes. In monetary circulation there are coins in nominal value 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 francs Djibouti.

Coins basically are in composition of the souvenir sets having enough seller's price which obviously exceeds a face-value of the coins switched on in them.

Obverses of coins of all nominal values which have been rapped out in Djibouti, the State Emblem of the country and an accompanying inscription REPUBLIQUE DE DJIBOUTI decorates. On a reverse of a coin in nominal value of 5 francs against a fan-shaped bird's tail the antelope is represented, the back of a coin of denomination of 10 francs of the sample of 1999 is decorated by the plotting Flying a proa, seated against the passenger steam-ship.

On the back coins in 20 francs as well as on a coin in 10 francs of the sample of 1999, there is a plotting Flying a proa and the passenger steam-ship on a background. On the back of a coin in nominal value of 50 francs two dromedaries are represented, the similar plotting is present and on a coin reverse in 100 francs. On the back coins in nominal value of 500 francs the digital designation of nominal value framed with a laurelic wreath is represented.
