Republic Senegal Monetary unit is the West African franc designated as CFA (CFA West - Financial community of the countries of the Western Africa) and manufactured by Bank of the states of the Western Africa. In a money turnover there are coins of denomination of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 and 500 francs.

The West African exchange rate union combines seven West African countries, being simultaneously members of a franc area. The Union includes Benin, Burkina Faso, the Cat-d'ivuar, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo. Till 1973 the Union included Mauritania And Madagascar. The republic Mali left the Union in 1962 and again has entered in June, 1984 the West African exchange rate union is formed during the period when the countries entering into it were colonies and dependent territories of France.

The Reverse of a coin of denomination of 50 francs contains the plotting of a digital designation of the nominal value framed with fruits of a peanut, cocoa and coffee, and also rice and millet runaways. On 100 francs the nominal value in an ornament and an inscription UNION MONETAIRE OUEST-AFRICAINE is seated, the reverse of a coin of denomination of 250 francs is similarly issued, on 500 francs agriculture production is represented.
