Monetary unit of Israel is the shekel which is equal to 100 agorae. In circulation there are coins in nominal value 10 agora, 1/2, 1, 2, 5 and 10 shekels.
In 1985 of denomination coins have been entered into 1, 5 and 10 agora, 1/2 and 1 shekel. In 1990 there has been begun production of coins in 5 shekels, and in 1995 - stamping 10-shekelevyh coins has begun. Production of coins in 1 agora has been terminated, and on April, 1st, 1991 they have been withdrawn from circulation. The coin in 2 shekels has been entered into the circulation on December, 9th, 2007. And a coin in 5 agora, manufactured till 2006, was it is excluded from the circulation on January, 1st, 2008.
