Monetary unit Papua New Guinea is a kina which consists from 100 toea. In circulation since 1975 there are coins in nominal values 5, 10, 20 both 50 toea and 1 kina.

On obverses of all coins the arms of Papua New Guinea are represented. On reverses of coins All nominal values various animals are represented.

Coins 1 and 2 toea were minted from bronze, other of a Copper-Nickel. Till 2006 the coin 1 kina with an aperture in the center was minted. Also in 2006 have been introduced from the circulation of a coin 1 and 2 toea. In 1980 a series of coins 50 toea in the solemn form, without standard design is manufactured.
