Republic Venezuela Monetary unit is the bolivar fuerte which consists from 100 centimos. In monetary circulation there are coins of denomination 5, 10, 25, 50 centimos and 1 bolivar fuerte.

Till 1912 in Venezuela there was a coinage of gold which had the name "bolivar". These coins were manufactured by nominal values 10, 20, 25, 50 and 100 bolivars. On their face side the plotting of Simon Bolivar, on the back - the national arms has been seated. Silver coins of denomination of 0.2, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2 and 5 bolivars were manufactured also.

In 1912 production of coined golds has ceased. In 1965 with nickel have replaced silver in coins of 25 and 50 centimos, the same has occurred to coins 1 and 2 bolivars in 1967. In 1971 Copper-Nickel coins of 10 centimos have been manufactured. Nickeliferous coins of 5 bolivars have been entered in 1973. The Nickel-plated steel has been entered for all nominal values from 25 centimos to 5 bolivars in 1989.

With input in the circulation in 2007 of bolivars fuerte coins of denomination in 1, 5, 10 12 1/2, 25, 50 centimos, and 1 bolivar have been manufactured. Now coins of 1 centimos widely are not used also the majority of the prices of 5 centimos are approximated to the proximate.
